Kuzu, has been a valuable ingredient in Japanese cooking and confectionery for over two thousand years.

This organic Kuzu is a premium gluten-free thickener with a smooth texture and neutral flavor, extracted from the roots of one of Japan's most vigorous mountain plants.
The family of producers of this Kuzu has been making Kuzu for 5 generations and is one of the last producers of pure Kuzu starch in Japan.
Cardioprotective, rich in antioxidants, replace your traditional starches by kuzu: a natural and healthy thickener for all your culinary preparations and drinks!

Composition : Organic wild kuzu root (Pueraria lobata), water.

Suitable for gluten-free diets

Technical information :

  • Fat free.
  • Sugar free
  • No saturated fatty acids
  • Very low salt content

Directions for use : Use about 1 tablespoon of kuzu for one cup (240ml) of liquid. 

  • Dissolve by diluting it in a little cold water before adding it little by little to hot liquids.
  • Stir continuously until it is thick and translucent.

As you would with thickeners (cornstarch, maizena, etc...): use kuzu to thicken soups and stews, sweet and savory sauces, glazes, desserts and pie fillings.
